PARENTS-OF-22 Sue and Noel Radford have slammed ‘cowardly’ trolls who are ‘jealous’ of their lifestyle.
In Sue and Noel Radford’s book, The Radfords: Making Life Count, which is a number one best-seller on Amazon, the couple opened up on their experiences with online haters.

The parents revealed that they previously even considered taking legal action, after mean keyboard warriors, who according to Noel, must have ‘empty lives’, went too far.
Noel explained: “We have certainly learned a lot about people since we started appearing on television, way back in 2012. Some of it has been great but some of it, unfortunately, not so great.
“We get so many lovely comments from viewers who enjoy seeing what our family is up to.
“They might watch us on Britain’s Biggest Family: 22 Kids and Counting, they might watch some of the videos we put on our YouTube and TikTok channels – or they might look at the posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

“Our own social media accounts are a nice place to be – but then there’s a whole other world which, sadly, isn’t quite the same.
“Although I guess we could now class ourselves as experts on internet trolls, we’ve never met any of them – probably because they spend their lives hiding behind their computers with their fake names!
“It’s something we had to get used to pretty quickly – and it’s something we have now learned to ignore as much as we possibly can.”
When it comes to their social media presence, the father, who owns a successful pie business, shared: “We don’t have Twitter – or X as it’s called these days. We got rid of that years ago. That’s the worst of them all – it’s absolutely vile.
“We have a Facebook page for the family and we monitor that. We find if someone does put something negative about us on there, people that do like us will jump back at them.”
Sue then chimed in: “Noel is right – Twitter, or X, is just toxic. We try to manage our own social media accounts and ignore the comments that people make elsewhere.

“We’re really good with our social media – we very rarely get nasty and negative comments; on the whole, it’s really positive.
“I think we learned a good few years ago not to go looking for the negative stuff, because it’s never good for your mental health. You’ve really got to just try to avoid it as best you can.
“Because even though you get all these lovely comments, one really horrible remark can, in your mind, take over everything else.”
SITTING BEHIND A KEYBOARD
Following this, Noel then claimed: “I think some of these people say what they say just because they are sitting behind a keyboard. They think they can say anything they like and it doesn’t matter – it doesn’t have any consequences.”
To which Sue explained: “It’s as if they don’t really see you – the target of their abuse – as being a human being who has feelings.
“They don’t seem to see you as a real person. They’re not bothered about what they say or what effects it might have.”
Noel explained that often, trolls are ‘hiding behind fake names’ online, as he claimed: “Which is pretty cowardly, isn’t it? They must have such empty lives.”

Sue agreed, as she shared: “They can’t be happy with their own lives to do what they do – to feel they need to try to drag other people down.
“It’s sad because me and Noel are not those kinds of people. But some people, sadly, are just not very nice. To say the least!”
JUST JEALOUS
The father-of-22 claimed that people must be ‘jealous’ of their lifestyle, as he wrote: “There are people who are jealous of what you’ve got.”
Noel explained that previously, the trolling got so bad, that the family considered taking legal action.

He admitted: “A while ago, we did consider taking legal action against one or two people who were hiding behind fake names and posting terrible things.
“Our solicitor said, ‘All they will do is open another account with a different fake name, and you’ll be forever chasing them.’”
FAKE ACCOUNTS
Sue then chimed in, and revealed that people weren’t happy when the family posted about their Christmas gifts for their bumper brood.
She explained: “That all started when I was pregnant with our last child, Heidie. We shared our Christmas on Facebook and a couple of people obviously didn’t like the fact we got the kids a lot of toys, while they were struggling financially. They got really nasty.
“They set up fake Instagram and Facebook accounts, where they were putting on really abusive stuff.
“That was quite hard to take, but it just seems that when you do well in life there are people who want to turn on you, which is really sad.”

Noel shared his dilemma when it comes to replying to trolls, as he penned: “It’s tricky because if you ever do answer back to the trolls, you’re basically just feeding them – it’s what they want. You’ve just got to ignore them.
“We just think the best thing to do is to say nothing. And it’s quite funny to then sit back and watch as people who don’t know us begin speculating and saying, ‘This is going on’ and, ‘No, this is what is actually happening’ – because they’ve got absolutely no idea.
“If you reply then they’ve got something else to come back at you with – because they will pick something out of your reply and have a go at you about that.
“At the end of the day, yes, we are on the TV but we are entitled to a private life as well – we don’t have to talk about every single thing regarding our family on the TV or on social media.”
