While this Avocado Brownies Recipe is still technically a dessert, it's one you don't have to feel guilty about!

People are just going crazy over avocados lately, and quite honestly, I don't get what all of the fuss is about. Sure, avocados are great, and they can be a great addition to a healthy diet.

But as someone who grew up with an avocado tree in her backyard, I just don't get why it's suddenly become so trendy. Avocado on toast? Yeah, big deal. Avocado on salad? Yep, been doing it for decades. Avocado instead of mayo on sandwiches?

Welcome to a club sandwich at Margaritaville in Key West 20 years ago. But fine, I'll indulge you. Avocados are great, and they're pretty healthy too - a great source of healthy fats!

See how rich and delicious they look? That avocado lends so much moisture to these avocado brownie bites that you'll never miss the butter in the recipe! Applesauce makes such a great replacement in many baking recipes, I've been using that substitution for years!
